DIY Herbal Toners for Every Skin Type
Natural Skincare from Your Kitchen your Skin Will Love This Summer
Toners are an essential step in any skincare routine. They help balance your skin’s pH, tighten pores, and prep your skin to absorb moisturizers. But did you know you don’t need fancy, chemical-laden toners to get glowing skin? You can make effective, skin-loving herbal toners right at home!
Today, I’m sharing simple DIY toner recipes tailored to your skin type – using natural, gentle ingredients you probably already have.
For Oily/Acne-Prone Skin: Green Tea + Witch Hazel Toner
Why it works:
Green tea is anti-inflammatory and full of antioxidants, while witch hazel helps control oil and minimize pores.
Ingredients:
1 green tea bag
2 tbsp witch hazel (alcohol-free)
1/2 cup distilled water
How to make:
Brew the green tea and let it cool. Mix in witch hazel and store in a clean spray bottle. Keep refrigerated for up to 7 days.
For Dry Skin: Rose Water + Aloe Vera Toner
Why it works:
Rose water hydrates and soothes, while aloe vera adds moisture and helps with skin healing.
Ingredients:
1/4 cup rose water
2 tbsp fresh aloe vera gel (or 100% pure aloe)
How to make:
Whisk ingredients together and pour into a clean glass bottle. Shake before each use. Use within 5–7 days, store in fridge.
For Sensitive Skin: Chamomile + Cucumber Toner
Why it works:
Chamomile calms irritation and redness. Cucumber refreshes and hydrates gently.
Ingredients:
1 chamomile tea bag
1/4 cucumber, blended and strained
1/2 cup distilled water
How to make:
Brew chamomile tea, let it cool, then mix with cucumber juice. Store in a spray bottle and use within 4–5 days.
How to Use Your DIY Toner:
_After cleansing, spray or apply with a cotton pad.
_Let it dry naturally or pat it in with clean hands.
_Follow with your favorite serum or moisturizer.
Final Tip:
Always do a patch test when trying new ingredients, even natural ones. And if you love the results, make a fresh batch weekly!
